As you've noted, the eyedropper bottles help a lot, especially with piston-filled pens that have screw-off nibs, like Pelikan. I found that there was more than enough ink to fill a typical converter. From each sample bottle I was able to fill a Lamy Safari converter twice. Similarly, I was able to fill the notoriously small Pilot Vanishing Point converter about three times from each sample bottle.
